Kirkby Stephen held their weekly sale of Prime & Cast sheep, when an entry of 1,002 were forward, consisting of 647 prime lambs, 258 cast ewes & rams and 97 prime hoggs.
The Anniversary show for prime lambs, which was kindly sponsored by NFU Appleby Branch & Richard Staley (Stonework) Ltd, had an outstanding show of over 25 pens of lambs which were put in front of our very capable judge Mr Andrew Atkinson, who awarded his Championship to a smart pen of three 37.5kg Beltex x lambs from C A & J G Skidmore, Needless Hall which went on to top the sale at 314.7p/kg (£118) and were purchased by M/s. Vivers Scot Lamb Ltd.

Topping at £120.30 was a Texel x Lamb consigned by A Maughan, Rennel House and purchased by A Atkinson. 12 buyers were in attendance with an overall average of 236.03p/kg.
Cast ewes & rams topped at £137.50 for a Texel ewe from A Maughan, Rennel House and averaged a great £82.60
