Primestock Show and Sale of Limousin Cross Cattle |

At Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Monday 4th April 2011, Harrison & Hetherington held the North West Limousin Club Primestock Show and Sale. A good show of cattle came forward to be judged by Mr Owain Llyr.
With 16 pure Limousin bulls to be judged. Mrs June Hunter of The Beeches sold the 1st prized Limousin bull for 745kg 193p £1441.58 bought by Charles Kirkpatrick. 2nd prize went to M/s Hill of Whitewall which sold for 624kg 197.5p £1232.40 to Charles Kirkpatrick and 3rd prize going to Mr Brain Hall of Ainstable Hall which later sold for 582kg 189.5p £1102 to Mr Mike Atkinson.
M/s Dodd of West View sold the 1st prize Limousin cross bull for 665kg 191.5p £1273.48 bought by Charles Kirkpatrick. M/s Jenkinson of Clifton Moor Farm sold the top priced Limouisn bull selling for 894kg 183.5p £1640.49 to Mr Owain Llyr.

A great show of 11 Limousin cows came forward with Mr Brian Hall of Ainstable Hall selling the 1st prize cow for 646kg 187.5p £1211.25 bought by Mr Mike Atkinson, 2nd place went to M/s Hill of Whitewall which sold for 707kg 184.5p £1304.42 to Mr Les Fell. M/s Dodd of West View sold the 3rd placed cow for 775kg 184.5p £1429.88 to Mr Owain Llyr.
M/s Dodd of West View sold the 1st prize and Overall Champion Limousin Heifer for 671kg 217.5p £1459.43 to Mr Jim Mullholland, The Butcher, Great Orton. M/s Dodd of West View also sold the 1st and 2nd placed Limousin cross bullocks which later sold for 627kg 191.5p £1200.71 to Pioneer Foods and 622kg 192.5p £1197.35 to Pioneer Foods.
