Borderway Prime Lamb Show

Monday 3rd May 2010

Harrison and Hetherington held their annual show and sale of Prime Spring Lambs. The show comprised of two classes, one for a pair of lambs and the second being a special class for a single lamb exhibited by young breeders under the age of 16.

A tremendous turnout of 23 pairs of lambs and 17 young breeders was achieved with the event being well received and supported.

The show was very ably judged by Mr David Miller of Crookdake Meats, Aspatria, who backed his judgment in both classes. Firstly by purchasing the first placed young breeders lamb from Mr Nathan Granger of Kiln Close for £140 and also purchasing the first placed open pair of lambs from M/s Hunter of Upper Brydekirk for £118 per head. It was extremely pleasing to see 5 local butchers turn out and purchase lambs.
