BROUGHTON CHRISTMAS PRIMESTOCK SHOW & SALE

At Broughton on Wednesday 25th November 2009, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their Christmas Show and Sale of Prime Cattle and Sheep. A good entry of 72 cattle, cows and bulls also 697 Prime Lambs and ewes forward.

Broughton Cattle Show

It was Mr A Finch of Dunbia, Preston who had the unenviable job of judging the well supported cattle classes, after much deliberation he awarded the Championship to Mr J Capstick of Whicham Hall.

A great ringside of buyers ensured a great trade was had throughout. Leading the sale was the Champion consigned by Mr Capstick of Whicham Hall which sold to Pattons Butchers, Millom for 624kg 215p £1341.60.

Prime Sheep
Mr I Brown, Ulverston had the hard job of the sheep judging with over 40 pens to cast his eye over. The sheep champion from M/s Benson of Gamswell topped the prime sheep section at 200p/kilo £81 to Dunbia, Preston.
