Sale of land at Broughton
On Tuesday May 4th, the first ever land sale took place within Broughton
Auction Mart, Broughton-in-Furness on behalf of Mrs Margaret Harrison.
This was a fitting venue for the sale of land from the Estate of the
late
Allan Harrison, a director of Broughton Mart who sadly died earlier
this
year.
The land, located at Eskmeals, Waberthwaite, extends to 27.47ha (67.92
ac)
lying in six enclosures.
Sold with vacant possession, the property was offered in two lots and
as a
whole. Bidding was slow in lots but quite the opposite when offered
as a
whole.
The successful purchaser paid £125,000.

First past the post: Ian Jackson, of Harrison & Hetherington, presents
the
winner of the ladies race at the Cumberland point to point at Heathfield,
Aspatria, Nicola Stirling, of Lauder, with a Border Fine Arts sculpture.
The
winning horse f the H&H sponsored race Clifford Bay is owned by
Nicola’s
mother, Pat. |
