Year on
year profits rise
Profits for the H&H Group, Carlisle, have
increased by almost five per cent on the year, with measured growth
also being achieved in turnover, dividend and earnings per share. Profits
before tax to the end of June this year are £477,000 compared
with £455,000 the previous year,
and turnover was £8,175,000 against £7,504,000 a year
ago.

H&H Group appoints new Directors
The H&H
Group, Carlisle has made two new and additional appointments to its main board
of directors. Farmer Michael Scott, who was appointed vice-chairman of the Group’s
farmstock subsidiary Harrison & Hetherington’s board
earlier this year, and Gretna businessman Alasdair Houston have
both joined the main board of directors. [more]

There
are clear indications that more land and farms are being released
onto the market and judging by the level of sale appraisals and enquiries
H&H Bowe is receiving
the trend is not going to stop.

call for autumn cattle sales
Under the new Single Farm
Payment Scheme and the absence of headage payments, Harrison & Hetherington
auctioneer and sales and marketing director David Thomlinson said
he believed the emphasis during this autumn's beef bull and female
sales would be on quality both in the selection in terms of breed
