Trevor Hebdon is to stand down as chief executive of the H&H Group at the end of May next year (2008) after nine years in the position. An announcement was made to staff and shareholders this week coinciding with the publication of the Group’s annual accounts for the 12 months ending June 2007 which show that year-on-year operating profit has increased by 37 per cent on an improved turnover of just over £8 million. Mr Hebdon, 53, joined the H&H Group as chief executive in January 1999 after a successful career in corporate banking, latterly as an area director for Barclays Bank. He is leaving following an agreement reached with the Group in April this year to pursue other business interests and to devote more time to the local charities he currently supports. Group chairman Alan Bowe said: “Staff, customers and shareholders can be happy in the knowledge that Trevor will be leaving the Group in the best shape it has been for some time and with a strong executive management team and committed staff to maintain this success. “In the coming months, Trevor will be actively involved in recruiting his successor.” Mr Hebdon, who will relinquish his directorship at the end of May 2008, said: “I plan to devote more energy to fulfilling my present roles with local charities, and I was also looking to create time to explore other business opportunities.” He is a trustee of Cumbria Community Foundation, a patron of Hospice at Home and an ambassador of Carlisle Cathedral; he is also co-chair of Carlisle Local Strategic Partnership’s Economic Development and Enterprise Working Group. | |||||||||||
