Pedigree Dairy Assistant Appointment

Katie Davidson

20 year old farmers daughter, Katie Davidson of Halmyre, Haugh of Urr has recently joined the Pedigree Team at Carlisle based livestock auctioneers Harrison & Hetherington Limited, as their Pedigree Dairy Assistant.

Katie has been involved with agriculture all of her life, especially with her enthusiasm of showing the family’s pedigree Halmyre herd of Ayrshire cattle. Her most creditable achievement to date was winning the Champion Ayrshire Showmanship at the All-Britain All-Breeds Calf Show in 2005.

She has also served as the Ayrshire Cattle Society Young Breeders Co-Coordinator for Scotland and North of England and was winner of the Hugh Stevenson Memorial Award.

Outside the judging ring of showing cattle, Katie enjoys horse riding and showing her horses and has competed at The Horse of the Year Show and The Royal International Horse Show.

Katie has just completed a two year course at Strathclyde University in Biological Sciences. She is delighted to be joining the country’s leading pedigree dairy auctioneering team and feels that this opportunity will give her the ability to, not only develop her own skills, but to add a unique enthusiasm and sparkle to H & H’s Farmstock business
