The EX Factor is coming to Borderway on May 20th 2006.

This is the first of what the dairy sales team hopes will be an EXciting, EXcellent, EXercise in the EXploitation of EXclusive and Elite pedigree Holsteins, Jerseys and Red and White cattle.

For the first time in this country a sale of this calibre will consist mainly of milking animals.

This gives breeders a wonderful opportunity to purchase animals from Excellent cow families with deep pedigrees.

Top type is always in demand and having the sale at this time of the year also lends itself perfectly, for people wanting show animals for the spring and summer shows.

All the animals entered will be from the most popular families from home and abroad including Idee Lustre, Shoremar Alicia, Bradale Gypsy Grand, Comestar Laura Sheik, Copywood Integrity Sara and the list goes on. Also on the jersey side we have an exciting early entry from Potterswalls Jerseys, Potterswalls Just Nikki VG85 2 Year old and will sell fresh.

* The Ad-Astra Sales Series, is the first of its kind in the UK initiative at Beeston Castle, Nr Tarporley on Tuesday April 18.

Unknown to many Ad-Astra means "Reach for the stars" and the Ad-Astra syndicate is a group of breeders established in 2001 through the closure of the live cattle exports from North America. It was with the expert guidance of Chris Parry who recognized the importance of Canadian breeding and so felt it necessary to maintain the high quality genetics through the purchase of embryos.

The syndicate is made up of four breeders; John Griffen, Canwell Holsteins, Ian Forester, Elmcroft Holsteins, Nigel Hollick, Honesberie Holsteins and Long Partners, Wagtail Holsteins all based within the Midlands of Sutton Coalfield, Barston, Rugby and Halford respectively.

The Ad-astra sale offers the first ever live Dundee calves to be sold at public auction and are the oldest calves on the ground within the UK adding to the excitement they are from the Acme Lincoln Ellie EX 5E 1* family and the Idee Lustre EX95 2E family and consigned by Honesberie Holsteins.
