Alan takes the chair

Alan Bowe has taken over the chair of the H&H Group from David Trimble, who
had held the office from April 2003.

The Group board unanimously elected Mr Bowe as chairman at its February meeting. Alan stepped down from his position as managing director of H & H Bowe, the Group's chartered surveying and land agency business, in 2004, following his year as National President of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers. This enabled him to spend a part of his time entirely on Group matters.

He is now non-executive Group chairman but, separately, will continue to provide his expertise to H & H Bowe although, in compliance with the spirit of good corporate governance, Alan has ceased to be an executive director of that business.

Mr Bowe joined the Group as a director in 1999 with the purchase of his land agency business Alan M Bowe. In July 2004, Mr Bowe was succeeded as the H&H Group subsidiary company managing director by John Robson.

Mr Bowe had previously spent two years as national vice-president and then a year as president of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers after an 11 year spell as Northumbria and Cumbria delegate for the association's council. During his year as president he hosted the CAAV's annual conference in Cumbria, attended by 180 delegates from across the country. Mr Bowe has been a CAAV member for 28 years.

Mr Trimble, followed his grandfather in the position of H&H chairman.
