Carlisle's first Sunday market at Borderway has been attracting thousands of bargain hunters every week.
The market which began at the end of April is being run by Greville Worthington who established 17 years ago what is now the north of England's biggest open air market at Catterick racecourse. The Carlisle market is almost near capacity with 110 stalls and continued
interest from traders, selling everything from tools and workwear to
gifts and clothing as well as entertainment including giant slides and
quad bikes. Mr Worthington, who wants to promote local producers, believes
Carlisle is the perfect location to repeat his success at Catterick. From July 2 a table top sale for people to sell surplus household goods will also operate on Sundays in the Borderway show hall. H&H Group chief executive Trevor Hebdon said:
The project is creating around 15 Sunday jobs for market and car parking marshalls and it is open from 9am to 3pm every Sunday. | |||||||||||
