Weardale NEMSA sale moves to Middleton in Teesdale Mart

Middleton in Teesdale Mart has been selected by the North of England Mule Sheep Association's Weardale branch as the new centre for its Tow Law gimmer lamb sale.

The change of venue follows the announcement of development of the mart at Tow Law which was run by Hexham & Northern Marts.

Weardale branch chairman Ken Lumley said: "When it became obvious that Tow Law as a venue for the Weardale branch sale was extremely doubtful an extraordinary general meeting was called. "After a lot of detailed debate the branch decided to place the ex-Tow Law sale with Middleton Mart."

Harrrison & Hetherington is anticipating a catalogued entry of around 6,000 Mule gimmer lambs for the official NEMSA sale on Thursday September 22. A sale of Mule shearlings will also be held at Middleton on the same day.

Harrison & Hetherington also runs the NEMSA gimmer lamb sale for the Weardale branch at St John's Chapel as well as an association sale at Kirkby Stephen.
