Insurance team expands further

Borderway Insurance Brokers continues to expand in its quest to become the largest specialist agricultural insurance broker in the north of England.

Peter Horn has joined the Penrith Borderway Insurance office from the NFU Mutual in the town where he has worked for six years, latterly as a commercial underwriter.

Borderway Insurance Brokers' director Andrew Cuthbertson, said:
"Peter further strengthens our team which we are proud to say now numbers over 20 in our combined Carlisle and Penrith operation. He has brought a number of skills and will in particular, be in a position to drive our new 'in house' quoting facility."
He added: "Service is paramout in the insurance industry. Our combination of providing a local presence coupled with the ability to give instantaneous quotations enables the rural community of Cumbria to have the service they demand."

Originally from Carlisle, Peter moved to Melmerby where his family farms when he was eight. A pupil of Ullswater School in Penrith, he obtained IT qualifications at Newton Rigg College before joining the NFU Mutual's Penrith branch staff in 1999. Since then he has passed his Chartered Insurance Institute certificate of insurance and hopes to qualify further in the future.

Outside work he is keen on motor bikes and racing as well as mountain biking.

Borderway Insurance Brokers opened it's Penrith office in December 2004 with the acquisition of the established business Richard Utting Insurance Services..
