Farm Property Auction

With more than 150 people attending the sale it was standing room only at the auction of the 86.7 acre farm Keysmount, Blackford, Carlisle, on Monday (February 11) at the Shepherds Inn, Rosehill.

The stock rearing farm was knocked down by auctioneer David Thomlinson for H&H Bowe to a local purchaser as a whole for £250,000, the equivalent of £2,882 an acre.

The sale was only the second auction for H&H Bowe since the foot and mouth crisis and attracted strong bidding in the lead-up to the first live sales of stock at Borderway Mart.

A total of 51.41 acres at Bankdale, Southwaite, was also offered for sale in two lots or as a whole but did not meet its reserve price.

The properties are among an increasing number of holdings and land for sale and for let on the books of H&H Bowe as the local land market begins to re-kindle.
