PRIZE SHOW & SALE OF SUCKLED CALVES
FRIDAY 28th OCTOBER 2005
At Borderway on Friday Harrison & Hetherington held its annual Show
and Sale of 1174 suckled calves. A nice quality show was presented
to a keen ring of buyers who bid briskly ensuring what could only be
described as an outstanding trade.
The pre sale
show was judged by Mr John Trenholme of Thirsk who did a marvellous job and awarded
the Champion prize to a cracking Limousin steer consigned by Hackleton Farms,
Nottingham. This animal later went on to make £750 bought be the
Judge. Reserve Champion went to a Belgian Blue steer consigned by Messrs
Martin, Hesley Well. He made £610 to Messrs Dent, Elm House, Bolton.
The
Sale averages are very similar to last years in fact heifers were up.
