Annual Prize Show and Sale of Strong Feeding Cattle and Suckled Calves
Tuesday 18th October 2005

On Tuesday 18th October 2005 at St Johns Chapel Mart, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their Annual Prize Show and Sale of 152 Strong feeding cattle and suckled calves. Trade was good throughout with prices almost averaging as much as the previous year.

The show sponsored by Norman Simpson & Sons, Fuel Merchants, Carrs Billington Agriculture, Barclays Bank and The Gate Man was judged by Mr B Jackson, Boroughbridge who made the following awards:-

Suckled Bullock – under 12 months:

1st, Champion Suckled Calf and Overall Champion – C Everitt, Jolly Body Farm - £540 to P Stobbart

2nd and Reserve Chammpion – E & S Gowland, Allergill - £500 to C Moralee & Sons

Suckled Heifer – under 12 months:

1st – E & S Gowland, Allergill - £398 to R Jackson & Son

2nd – C Everitt, Jolly Body Farm - £395 to N Hall & Son

Store Bullock:

1st – E & S Gowland, Allergill - £600 to C Moralee & Sons

2nd – J R Dalton, South Wellhope - £538 to R Jackson & Son

Store Heifer:

1st – E & S Gowland, Allergill - £472 to R Jackson & Son

2nd – J R Dalton, South Wellhope - £422 to R Jackson & Sons

Belgian Blue cross bullocks: £555 Earnwell (Featherstone).
