Middleton in Teesdale Prize Show and Sale of Suckled calves

On Tuesday 9th November 2004 at Middleton in Teesdale Mart, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their Annual Prize Show and Sale of 1,426 Suckled Calves.

A splendid show of cattle recorded an overall average of £433.69 (down £16.18). Trade opened at a brisk trade and remained level throughout.

The show was kindly sponsored by National Westminster Bank, Barclays Bank and Carrs Billington Agriculture and was judged by Mr S Hopkinson, Chesterfield.

Awards:
Limousin cross bullock:
1st & Champion Bullock, Champion Limousin, and Overall Champion, winning the National Westminister Cup, The Pikestone Rosebowl and the Perpetual Silver Cup – Mr R E Williamson, Little Burn Farm - £2,000 to Mrs J Sedgewick.
2nd and Reserve Champion – J C & J White, Rigg Farm £1,800 to Mr A Phillips.

Limousin cross heifer:
1st Messrs M C Dent & Son, Wythes Hill - £700 to Mr Wilkinson
2nd – J C & J White, Rigg Farm - £605 to Mr Taylor

Belgian Blue cross bullock:
1st – Mr R E Willamson, Little Burn Farm - £900 to Mr J Craggs
2nd – Messrs C R Raine & Sons, Stanhopegate - £1,200 to Mr B Hough.
