MIDDLETON IN TEESDALE PRIZE SHOW AND SALE OF SUCKLED CALVES

Tuesday 11th November 2003, Harrison & Hetherington Middleton
In Teesdale
held their annual prize show & sale of 1315 suckled calves.
As usual the
sale attracted great interest with purchasers present from most English counties,
Wales and Scotland. The overall average levelled at £449.87 (+£36.29
from 2002). The show sponsored by Carrs Billington Agriculture and Barclays Bank
Plc was judged by Mr G Burrows, Malham.

The Yorkshire & North Eastern Charolais Club in conjunction with Dectomax
donated a prize valued at £100 for the highest priced pen of four cattle
bred by a Charolais bull, which went to JW Dent & Son, Naby View for a pen
of bullocks purchased by Mr A Jenkinson for £605.
