MIDDLETON IN TEESDALE PRIZE SHOW AND SALE OF STRONG STORE CATTLE

On Tuesday 4th November 2003, Harrison & Hetherington Middleton In Teesdale held their annual prize show & sale of strong feeding cattle.

An entry of 239 met a total clearance with averages rising from the previous year. Bullocks averaged £578.21(+£51.02) and heifers £421.62 (+£38.89).

The show sponsored by Barclays Bank Plc was judged by Mr D Anderson, Wigton.

Class 1, Bullocks: 1st JC & J White, Rigg Farm £900 to Mr P Harker, 2nd JC & J White, Rigg Farm £830 to Mr B Hough.
Class 2, Heifers: 1st C Bell, The Pry £1300 to Messrs Little, 2nd JC & J White, Rigg Farm £700 to Mr K Harryman.

Special prize donated by the Earl of Strathmore, for the Best beast owned by a tenant – JC & J White, Rigg Farm.
Special Prize donated by Lord Barnard – Best beast owned by a tenant – C Bell, The Pry.
