The judge Mr H Annott, Widdrington Home Farm, Northumberland who had a difficult task with 30 cattle in the show awarded the Championship to M/s D & R Cornthwaite, Balgrayhill with a black Limousin Bullock which sold at £690. Reserve Champion went to M/s JM Wharton, Snade Farm, Dunscore with a Limousin heifer which sold at £570. Outwith the show cattle all classes were very easily cleared with bullocks selling to a top of £652 for a pen of Limousin from Mr D Stodart, Highlaw. Top Price per kilo went to M/s W J Kerr & Son, Gamerigg, Parkgate with a pen of Belgian Blue crosses which sold at 166.1p per kilo. Heifers were very easily sold selling to 133p per kilo for a pair of Limousins from M/s J M Wharton, Snade Farm, Dunscore with the same home also selling to £570.
