On Monday 3rd November 2003, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd,
Kirkby Stephen held the great annual prize show and sale
of 822 continental cross suckled calves, where the show was
kindly sponsored by MVT (Scotland) and Barclays Bank, with
special awards given by The British Belgian Blue Cattle Society
and North West Limousin Breeders Association. As usual a
tremendous alley full of animals were forward for showing
to the judge Mr G Nutt, Hull. The nine classes provided much
thought, but resulted in the following awards.

The sale resulted in a flying trade witnessed by a crowded
ringside of purchasers, the champion beast being knocked
down at £1440 to Mr Dickens, Milton Keynes. The overall
average when compared to last year rose by £42.44.
