CARLISLE CONTINENTAL CROSS STORE CATTLE SALE
FRIDAY 31st October 2003
On Friday 31st October at Borderway Mart, Harrison & Hetherington
Ltd held their annual prize show and sale of 1115 suckled calves. A fantastic
show of quality calves were consigned to a packed ring of buyers from
all over the country, this made sure that all classes met a wonderful
trade, said by many to be the dearest of the year so far.

The judge Mr J Trenholme, Thirsk did a marvellous job
with over 50 cattle forward for showing, the champion prize went to
Messrs Dent, Beamwham,
Haydon Bridge with a 7 month old Limousin steer which later sold at £630.
An overall average for 628 steer calves was £548.23 and for 485
heifer calves £353.41.
