KIRKBY STEPHEN "LUKE FAIR" STORE CATTLE SALE

On Monday 20th October 2003 Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen conducted the annual Luke Fair sale of 661 continental cross bullocks and heifers.

A good crowd of regular customers from across the country came to support this well regarded sale and consiquently all classes of cattle sold to a strong trade.

Messrs G Sowerby, Terry`s Farm sold the highest priced bullock of the day a Blonde d`Aquitaine at £775. Heifers peaked at £590 for a Limousin consigned by WJ & PM Dargue, Smardale Hall.

The overall average was up £10.53 per head on the year.
