POULTRY & WATERFOWL SALE

SATURDAY 26th FEBRUARY 2005

Harrison & Hetherington Limited, Carlisle held their annual poultry and waterfowl sale on Saturday 26th February 2005 when they presented a catalogue entry of 81 lots of hatching eggs, 448 lots of poultry, 91 lots of waterfowl and 64 lots of equipment.

The sale attracted a huge crowd of enthusiasts and bidding throughout was very brisk.

In the poultry section a trio of Marans topped the sale at £180 consigned from R Uden of Glasgow. A trio of gold partridge dutch bantams from J Robertson of Kelso sold for £80.

A pair of rare Skane Swedish geese from M Campbell of Bonchester Bridge sold for £110 for the pen and another pair also from M Campbell sold for £105. These were shortly followed by a pair of Cereopsis geese selling at £110 consigned by I Cunningham of North Berwick.
