Kirkby Stephen SSBA ‘C’ District Ram Sales – Day 2

On Thursday 20th September 2005 at Kirkby Stephen Mart, on the second day of the Swaledale Sheep Breeders Association ‘C’ District Ram Sales, Harrison & Hetherington saw forward an entry of 521 Shearling rams which averaged £1,148.35 (up 39p on the year).

Awards:

Class 1 – Shearling Ram:
1st and Champion – J R & A Blades, Scarr House - £8,500 to R Tiplady
2nd and Best Ram in ‘C’ District – W M Hutchinson & Sons, Redgate - £6,000 to H Tunstall
3rd and second in ‘C’ District – W Richardson & Son, Ghyll House - £4,000 to A J Mason
4th – and third in ‘C’ District – D & C E Marston, Easegill Head - £1,900 to A Harrison
5th – R S Harker, Overthwaite - £2,800 to M C Dent
Commended – T Robinson & Sons, Catlow - £2,000 to Messrs Hodgson

Class 2 – Small Breeders Shearling Ram:
1st and Reserve Champion – D A & R C S Harker, Overthwaite - £8,000 to J Bland
2nd – Dent & Dixon, Naby View - £500 to Mr Hird
3rd – T A Blades, Scarr House - £1,000 to Mr Edmondson
4th – D W & A S Noble, Burblethwaite – Not Sold
5th – E C Coates, The Nook - £5,000 to K Slack
