Tuesday Judging
On Monday 11th October 2004 at St John’s Chapel Mart, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held the opening day of the Annual two day sale of Swaledale rams on behalf of the Swaledale Sheep Breeders Association ‘D’ District. An entry of 80 aged rams averaged £426.72 this was down £176.67 on the year.

Throughout the sale the ringside was packed, purchasers selecting rams with good confirmation, mouthes and gene tests.

Class 1 – Large Breeders Aged Ram:
1st – I Collinson, Billingshield - £400 to Mr Ollerenshaw, Derbyshire
2nd – I Collinson, Billingshield - £1,000 to Messrs Hodgson, Rydal
3rd – I Collinson, Billingshield - £400 to Mr Ollerenshaw, Derbyshire
4th – J Lee & Son, Morley Hill - £1,600 to Messrs N & R Taylor, Derbyshire

Class 2 – Small Breeders Aged Ram:
1st – C P Fray, East Lonnon - £350 to Messrs Hodgson, Hartsop Hall

Class 3 – Two Shear Ram:

On Tuesday 12th October 2004 at St John’s Chapel Mart, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held the second day of the Swaledale Sheep Breeders Association ‘D’ District Ram sale an entry of 411.

Shearling rams met a useful trade with sheep of good confirmation again easy to sell. The overall average of £539.01 was down £194.67 on the year.
