On Friday 18th October 2002 the final day of the Swaledale Sheep Breeders Association `C` District Ram Sale at Kirkby Stephen, Harrison & Hetherington Limited presented an entry of 499 Shearling Rams.
Trade continued in the same extreme level as the previous day to average £2007.14 an increase of £1107.59 from 2000, the two day average for 997 shearling rams being £2132.72 (+£1240.59).

1st and overall champion, Mossdale Farms, Mossdale £50,000 to L Raine & Sons, Coach and Horses, CR Raine & Sons, Stanhope Gate & RVM Raine.

2nd and reserve champion, WM Hutchinson & Sons, Redgate £28,000 to Messrs Bell & Morrison, The Rigg Villa.

3rd Mossdale Farms, Mossdale, £42,000 to RM Dixon, Garnthwaite and R Marwood & Son, Long Green.

4th DJ & S Dixon, Hartley Castle, £16,000 to DW Burbeck, Villa Park.
