On Saturday 12th October 2002, Harrison & Hetherington, Lazonby held their Annual Sale of 450 Swaledale, Bluefaced Leicester, Cheviot & Texel Rams.

In the Show for Swaledale Rams, the 1st prize in the aged rams and also in the shearling ram section was awarded to Messrs EJ & FM Wear, Howe Green, Hartsop, 2nd & 3rd prize in the aged rams and 2nd prize in the shearling section was awarded to Mesrs P & C Charnley, High Oxen Fell Farm Coniston whilst 3rd prize in the shearlings was awarded to Messrs PL & J Dawson, Kentmere Hall, Kentmere.

The champion ram from EJ & FM Wear, was a two shear by a Coach And Horses sire later went on to sell for £1600 to Mr Colin Lowis, Waterside House, Pooley Bridge. Other leading prices included a Swaledale 2 shear ram from CY & Y Dixon, Haresceugh Castle selling at £1000 to Messrs Dixon, Townfoot, Croglin, Messrs PL & J Dawson, Kentmere Hall sold a 3 shear ram at £900 to Messrs Pears, Hillside, Caldbeck.

In the crossing ram section Blue Faced Leicester Rams sold to a flying trade, with a top of £2200 paid to J Lee, Morley Hill, Whitfield by Messrs Lee, Agars Hill, The same vendor completing a successful day selling six other rams ranging from £700 to £1600, the ram at £1600 being purchased by Messrs Raine, Old Parks, Kirkoswald. Also having a noteable sale was Messrs Barker, Townhead Ousby with a shearling ram at £1700 purchased by Messr C Lightburn & sons, Thornthwaite Hall. No fewer than 14 rams sold for £1000 or more.

Blue Faced Leicester females saw prices to £200, part of a dispersal sale for AG Morton, Bank Hall, Kirkland, and Texel rams sold to £420 for Mr J Wharton, Galloper Park, Tebay.
