The dispersal sale of the Espley Suffolk flock on Monday 25th July 2005 attracted much interest, far and wide, and saw a top price of 1,800gns achieved.

Leading the sale was an ARR/ARR one crop ewe sired by the 15,000gn ram Hallhill Alliance and out of a Bridgestone Topline bred daughter. She was successfully purchased by Messrs Cobbald of Acorn Farms Ltd for their Melford flock based in Suffolk.

Messrs Cobbald also bought the next two leading priced lots. The first was an ARR/ARR ewe by Bridgestone Highlander and out of a Cairness Principle daughter and sold for 1,400gns. The other entry to join the Melford flock at 900gns was a group two one crop ewe. Sired by Hallhill Alliance and going back to Glenhead Unique through her mother breeding.

At 750gns, one of the two stock rams on offer, Kings Comet, a group one son of Strathisla Rock of McCoy sold to Messrs B & E Stonard of Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.

Averages - 67 ewes £323.54, 39 shearling gimmers £321.73, 39 ewe lambs £147.00, 2 rams £761.25.
