Purchasers were Iain Barbour, aged 25, and his sister, Judith, 19 for use as a stock ram in their respective Solway Bank and Ewebank flocks based at Annan. Judith's Ewebank flock has been collecting numerous trophies at local and regional shows this season.

The scrapie genotype 1 ram lamb is by Perrenpit Consort, a son of Solway Bank Ranger bred by Iain Barbour.

Perrenpit Consort was bought by the Lewises, who run their Redhill flock at Portgate, Allendale, for his colour and conformation and he has since been breeding well.

The championship, placed by judge Robert Fleming, of Hillhead, Kirkpatrick Fleming, Lockerbie, went to Annie Hutchon, of Maulscastle Farm, Lockerbie, with her Cumberland Show male champion, another ram lamb from her Evandale flock.
