Muiresk A One

Once again a strong following of Suffolk breeders and enthusiasts gathered for the Dispersal sale of the Sycamore flock held on behalf of Fordington Farms Ltd of The Sycamores, Nr Alford, Lincs.

Leading the sale at 2,000gns was their stock ram, Muiresk A One, a Cairness Capello sired ram lamb and out of a Stockton Storm bred ewe. He was sold to local breeders Messrs Miller of Allerby Hall, Aspatria.

Selling for 1,400gns was a shearling gimmer by the noted Cairness U’ll Do ram and bred back to a Parkhouse Jade daughter who goes back to a Bridgestone Bobby Dazzler ewe. She sells in lamb to Muiresk 999 to Messrs JM Robinson & Son Ltd of Greenlands Farm, Grimsby.

Another stock ram secured the next leading price tag of 800gns. Sycamore Zest, a homebred shearling sired by Fordafourie Xpresso, sold to Messrs JH Farr & Son of Th Veddw, Pontrilas, Herefordshire.

A Perrinpit Supersire bred shearling gimmer sold for 700gns to Miss TI Blythe of Laburnum Lodge, Boston, Lincs. Also selling for 700gns was a Muiresk 999 bred shearling gimmer who goes back to Roseden Rebel on her dams pedigree, she sold to Mr JA McGarva of Horseclose Farm, Annan.

Averages - 134 Ewes £247.96, 49 Shearling Gimmers £284.14, 54 Ewe Lambs £195.32, 4 Rams £1,023.75.
