Dispersal of the Hollytree Pedigree
Suffolk Flock
Wednesday 26th June 2002 on behalf of D. Stewart The first pedigree sheep sale at Borderway Mart, Carlisle took place on Wednesday 26th June 2002 when the Dispersal sale of the Hollytree Suffolk flock was held.
Leading the sale at 750gns was a two shear ewe sired by Stockton Dominator and out of a Bridgestone Hercules ewe. She goes to County Turf Ltd of Low Santon Farm, Appleby, Scunthorpe. Selling for 720gns was another two shear ewe that was additional to the sale. Sired by Stockton Stanley and going back to Bridgestone Hercules on her dams side, she was knocked down to Messrs Rutherford & Co of Guards Farm, Gretna. Messrs Rutherford also bought a three shear ewe for 520gns. She was by Muiresk Scot Free and carries Hollytree Lucket on her dams side and Bridgestone Hercules on her grand dams side of the pedigree. The next two price tags were both shearling gimmers purchased by Mrs R Stevenson of Howgill Foot, Kaber, Kirkby Stephen. Selling for 420gns and 400gns both gimmers were by Glenco 2000 and out of Santon Sammie ewes. Averages - 103 ewes £145.12, 53 shearling gimmers £151.85, 59 ewe lambs £105.28; 215 females £134.94. <<back |
