Show and Sale of Bleu du Maine Sheep
FRIDAY 15th AUGUST 2003 A top call of 520gns led the sale at the Bleu du Maine Societys
premier show and sale at Carlisle on Friday 15th August 2003.
The reserve male champion, a lamb ram from Sally Johnson of the Maximum flock, nr Malpas, Cheshire sold for 520gns to Yorkshire breeder Mrs EJ Goldie of Ferrymans House, Thirsk. Maximum Ace, a January born lamb has already been a winner on the show circuit this summer winning 1st prize lamb at Three Counties Show. A shearling ram sold for the next leading price of 460gns consigned from the Burford flock of Julie Bury, Brighthampton, Witney, Oxford. Burford Zac, a January born ram has also been shown this year winning many awards and was practically unbeaten in the south of England during 2003. He also won ram and supreme championship at the pre-sale judging and was sold to Mr A Rees of Tynllwyn, Welshpool. Leading the millemium bleu section at 400gns was a shearling ram from Wigtownshire breeders Messrs R & L Galloway of the Clantibuies flock. Their April born shearling was knocked down to Claish Farms of Callender, Stirling. Averages:- << back |
