The Border & Lakeland Club Show & Sale held on Wednesday
9th April 2003 attracted a good quality (for both type and pedigree)
of fresh young cows and heifers.
The trade although less predictable than has been the recent trend was
fine with virtually every animal forward being sold to average a most
satisfactory £1,106.32.

The Champion, sired by Kellywell Slocum Rebel, (Lot 20) was consigned
by BG Yates, East Logan, Castle Douglas. Bred from the Flora family "Logan
Rebel Flora" made the top price of 1,650 now entering the herd of
Mr T Howie, Muirside Farm, Holywood, Dumfries. Also for B & G Yates,
Logan Rebel Breeze, sired by Kellywell Slocum Rebel realised 1,450gns.
WJ Morrison & Sons of Fairburn, Banff takes home this third top priced
heifer.
The second highest bid of 1,580gns was secured for Ingleview Integrity
Deb. A 2nd calf cow by Robthom Integrity from R & E Butterfield,
Linghaw, Bentham gained the Reserve Champion title. Bred from 3 generations
of VG or EX, she joins the herd of Messr Colin Mair & Partners, Turiff,
Aberdeen.
