Report
Borderway Mart hosted another hugely successful pedigree Holstein Show and Sale on Wednesday 18th December 2002, combining the monthly Border & Lakeland Show & Sale with consignments from the Howdale and Fencombe herds. The judge of the show was Mr Ian Hodgson from the Holmeden Herd.
One of the entries from the Fencombe herd goes through the ring.

The sale saw a good turnout of young cows and heifers, realising a consistent and very competitive trade. The top price of the day was 2,000gns for the Reserve Champion of the show. Sired by Carnation Counsellor, Fencombe Lead 12 EX90, a 4th calver was consigned by Messrs RJ & MD Coker, Devon. She enters the herd of Mr B Salisbury, Beech Farm, Raughton Head, Carlisle.

Also at 2,000gns was Criffelhill Katie 91, a fresh heifer by Criffelhill Troubadour, from L Brough & Sons, Cockermouth. The hammer was dropped down to JN Harrison & Sons, Down Hall, Wigton.
