Following the weekly commercial sale the Border and
Lakeland Pedigree Holstein Show and Sale saw a 100% sell out with
demand such that many more quality young cows and heifers would
have sold well.
The top price of 1,280 gns was shared by Messrs Brough
of Criffelhill with a fresh second calved cow from their
Trudy family, and by Ian Duncan for this Renown Factor heifer Broadlea
Factor Cloe 2. This latter heifer was Overall Champion.

Another much admired young cow Gerrard Dombinator
Snowy 20 whose breeding goes back to Ullswater made 1,150 gns for
Messrs R H Carter & Son, who also succeeded in winning the Champion
cow class and Reserve Overall Champion, with a second calf daughter
of their stock sire Bricknell Realism.
The commercial sale concluded with a batch of very
sensible commercial cows at all stages of lactation from John Shearing
of the Hagg, Roweltown. Demand again was steady and sensible with
buyers and vendors alike being well satisfied. Leading the sale
was a cow which sold to £540.
