Border & Lakeland Holstein Club Show & Sale Wednesday 23rd November 2005

Once again the Border & Lakeland Holstein Club sale attracted a wide range of buyers. This month the quality from start to finish was quite breathtaking and this was proven by the consistent trade with 42 animals over 1000gns to a top price of 3,400gns. The show was judged by David Hodgson, Wormanby Holsteins, Burgh by Sands, Carlisle.

The champion, Nethervale Rubens Christine bred by leading breeders from Ayrshire W Scott & Co,who dispersed their herd last year, attracted the most attention. This Rubens daughter just 3 weeks fresh already looked like an All Britain Nominee. Local breeder of Errolston Holsteins seized the opportunity and now owns this awesome individual for 3,400gns.

Stowbeck Kendall Dewdrop gained the Reserve Champion title and second top price of 1,750gns from local consigners Skirwith Hall Farms. This Kendall daughter just freshly calved sold to DG & AD Morgan & Hughes, Cumnock.

DG & AD Morgan & Hughes, Cumnock purchased the next three top prices. Rob Musson, Threelimes Holsteins, consigned Blackbrook Mary 21, also freshly calved. Sired by Rigilo Juror Capri, she sold for 1,580gns.

Chishillways Ghost Jubilant 129 realised 1,420gns for Paul & Anne Harrison, Heddon on the Wall.

S Moor & Son, Littlecoop Holsteins, Seaham consigned a recently calved Outside heifer. Littlecoop Breeze 34 giving 33.2kgs daily sold for 1,420gns.
