For the third consecutive month the Champion at the Border & Lakeland Club sale sold for over £2,000. On Wednesday 14th September 2005, the judge Mark Wilson of “Hailstone” Holsteins selected the Champion and resultant prizewinners. Trade again was buoyant, especially for deep pedigrees, with more than twenty animals selling over 1,000gns. The Champion and top price of the show and sale was Ingleview Outside Epic consigned by Robert and Elaine Butterfield, Linghaw Farm, Bentham. This stylish heifer was bred from two generations of straight Excellent cows and was sold for 2,000gns to the Stair herd of Jim Kennedy, Carngillan, Tarbolton. Robert Hunter of Letterkenny Holsteins gained the second top price and Reserve Champion for Letterkenny Outside Colleen. Also sired by Comestar Outside, this recently calved heifer realised 1,400gns and now enters the herd of Mr Somerville Braehead, Carrutherstown. Boustead Ford Daisy consigned by Martin & Julie Gaitskell, Burgh by Sands, sold for 1,350gns. It enters the same herd of Mr Somerville, Braehead, Carrutherstown. The “Springside” Holstein consignment of young cows and heifers from John Cochrane, High Dyke Farm, Darvel were in demand. Mr Mitchell, Grougar Mains snapped up Bird Dale Indro Tassy, a Rigilo Juror Indro daughter just recently fresh into her first lactation for 1,250gns. Leading Prices
