The August Border & Lakeland Holstein Club Sale realised great trade for both buyers and sellers alike with better quality pedigrees attracting a recognised premium. Tapping forward the winners of the day was Malcolm Hutchinson, Bowberhill Holsteins, Kirkby Stephen.
The top price and champion of the day was Crossrigg Beatexus, a Weeton Attention, daughter consigned by F Harrison & Son, Clilburn, Penrith. Bred from the Ewefields’ Beatexus family and recently fresh, this heifer sold for 2,300gns to Mr T Howie, Muirside, Holywood.

Sired by Ingleview Stormy King and from the Arlene family this VG86 cow in her 2nd lactation realised the second top price of 1,500gns. Bred from 4 generations of EX or VG cows, “Ingleview King Arlene PI VG86” now enters the herd of G&B Stevenson, Blue House Farm, Loftus, Cleveland. Also from Ingleview Holsteins Ingleview Leader Deb PI VG85, a second lactation Leader daughter, was snapped up for 1,450gns by SG Mair, Kinnermit, Turriff.
The Reserve Champion, Bridge End Gelpro Aroma bred from 4 generations of the Brynhyfrd Aroma family was consigned by Colin Dent, Bridge End, Kirkby Thore. The Deveronside Herd of SG Mair & Sons, Turriff took her home for 1,500gns.
