The Wintertarn Dispersal Sale, comprising 160 individual animals, was held at Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Monday 12th July 2004. An excellent ringside together with telephone bidders from all over the UK ensured a consistent trade throughout.

Maytown Cash Arlene EX91

The top price of 2,100gns was realised for Maytown Cash Arlene EX91. This Eastland Cash daughter in her fourth lactation and in calf to Pursuit September Storm now enters the Airfield herd of Ken Proctor, Grange Farm, Thetford, Norfolk. Messrs Proctor also secured the second top price for Maytown Leadership Duchess EX91. This Leadership daughter recently calved in her third lactation is currently giving 63.3kgs daily.

Wintertarn Outside Arlene, daughter of Maytown Cash Arlene EX91, attracted considerable interest with the final bidders being an undisclosed buyer for 1,500gns.

Two lots sold for 1,200gns. Firstly was a ME Dal Blackstar Benefit daughter, Birchcross Benefit Gaffey VG87, selling to local breeders, JN Harrison & Sons, Down Hall, Aikton, Wigton. Followed by Maytown Cheasapeake Apple Bloss, Messr JM & M Harris, Whitbarrow Farm, Berrier, Penrith who sealed the bid on this fresh young cow in her third lactation.

Messr RM & N Wainwright and Son Ltd, Castle Farm, Low Hesket went to 1,150gns for Blyford Dom Das Specky VG88. This young cow yielded 13,638kgs in her 2nd lactation and is still giving 55.4kgs now in her third.
