Anniversary Sale of the RHEDA Herd of Pedigree Holsteins Wednesday 12th May 2004 |
Bidding topped at 1,020gns twice, Lot 58 RHEDA NELLIE 124 a silky stylish 88 pointed cow in her 3rd lactation with an Ex mammary sired by Lord Lily was the first. Lot 89 RHEDA FRANCHISE PIXY 15 was the second a splendid VG 85 classified cow with an awesome udder and sired by Moet Martha Franchise both cows went to the same home thanks to confident bidding from M. Falshaw Kelberhill Farm. 1,000gns secured ownership of RHEDA BUSTER BABY 9 just recently calved for the third time she now lives at Mr. T. Jopson & Son Hesthamhall.
47 in calf heifers created a lot of interest with the next generation of the Donaldson herd displaying similar quality to the milking portion that had just been sold. Tall deep ribbed heifers with great udder promise saw bidding top at 880gns for Lot 159 RHEDA LORNA 10 due 11th June to Avenham Westminster. Lot 174 RHEDA SARAH 645 a Summershade Igniter daughter with an Ex 90 dam and due 1st August to Moet Melody reached 825gns before the hammer dropped, W& SE Dickinson & Son Kirkbarrow will be the new owner of these two heifers.
