DISPERSAL SALE OF THE JAT & PERLYN HERDS

Report:
Wednesday 8th September 2004 saw an impressive crowd of people gather at Borderway Mart Carlisle for the sale of the Jat & Perlyn herds owned by PW & JA Telfer and Percy Telfer respectively.
Peter deciding to retire from milk production and Percy reducing the most recently calved cows made this sale an attractive event for many purchasers.
Topping the day was Hadston Bubba Primrose GP82 at 950gns, a daughter of Wa-Del Convincer. Recently calved and giving almost 40kgs daily, she went to Messrs W Wood & Son, Groundy Croft, Holmrook, Cumbria.
The second top price was Hadston Knighthood Melanie GP83 and was just at the point of calving into her second lactation. This stylish young cow secured the bid of 850gns to Messrs W Wood & Son, Groundy Croft, Holmrook, Cumbria.
Mr N McCarragher, Fernycleugh, Lochmaben purchases a daughter of Jo-Wal Cubby Metro. Hadston Metro Lucille GP83 recently fresh in her third lactation and giving 40kgs daily realised 820gns.
A satisfying day for all concerned. Peter and Percy would like to wish all who supported the sale good luck with their new purchases.
