The Edenfauld Dispersal Sale, held at Borderway on Monday 24th May 2004, attracted a good crowd of buyers to take home quality breeding from the Metcalfe’s herd of pedigree and PI Holsteins.

Edenfauld Durham Ballerina PI - 4,100gns

This combined to result in no less than twenty two individual animals from young cows to baby calves making 1000gns or more of which five made over 2000gns, to a top call of 4100gns.

The top price of the day was 4,100gns for Edenfauld Durham Ballerina PI, an in-calf heifer from the Indianhead Mandingo Bridget family. She is bred from 3 EX dams and in total 5 generations of VG or EX cows with her show winning maternal sister being Indianhead Birthday Girl EX93 who was 2 times Junior All-American and Hon Mention Grand Champion Dairy Expo Junior Show. She was sold to an undisclosed buyer by Mr Graham Kirby.

Burwhin Flirt 7 EX93, realised 4,000gns and was purchased by JH & A Wilson & Son, Wood Farm, Thursby, Carlisle for their Warnelview herd. Sired by Cogent Merlin, and in her third lactation she was sold giving 39.5kgs daily.

The Mayne herd of Messrss J & JD Anderson, Mayne Farm, Elgin, Morayshire bid last at 2,300gns for Cumrew Storm Frances EX90. Giving daily 42.4kgs, this third lactation young cow is maternal sister to Cumrew Progress Frances VG86 sold for 3,200gns in the Cumrew sale 2003.
