A full house gathered at Borderway Mart for the dispersal of the milking portion of the Boustead herd for Martin and Julie Gaitsgill on Wednesday 16th June.

Top price of the day was 1800 gns for Boustead Jolt Mab, a third lactation cow due again in the autumn to Alzi Juror Ford. She has just completed an 11,984kgs lactation at 5.22%bf and 3.13%p. The successful purchasers were Messrs JN Harrison, Down Hall, Aikton, Wigton.

Next highest price was 1350gns for Boustead Outside Alice 2, a second calver due again in the autumn. The buyer was Mr Steel, Rowreagh Farm, Kircubbin, Northern Ireland who purchased a number of near calving cows.

Two animals made 1250gns apiece, one a milking daughter of Summershade Igniter who was purchased by Mr WH Steel, Anns hill, Bridekirk Cockermouth. The other was for a daughter of Ronnybrook Prelude also milking in her first lactation and was purchased by Mr J Caygill, Manor House, Rylstone, Skipton.

In calf heifers sold to a top of 1550gns for Boustead Juror Wallen who is due to calve in August and was again purchased by Messrs JN Harrison Down Hall, Aikton, Wigton.
