An improved trade compared to last month saw most of the cattle forward find new homes for an overall sale average of £943.34 for the nineteen animals sold.

The overall champion and top price of the day was Letterkenny Storm Kathy 2, a recently calved heifer by Maughlin Storm that realised 1,350gns for consigners J&R Hunter, West Tarbrax Farm, Shotts, Lanarkshire. She joins the Grangehall herd of Messrs Lawrie, Pettinain, Lanark.

A freshly calved Robthom Integrity daughter, Barwood Integrity Mayflower, from the Barwood herd sold for 1,200gns for WN & HM Barton, Wood End, Kirby Lonsdale. This real stylish heifer was knocked down to Messrss PD G raves & Partners, East Scales, Rigg, Gretna.

Messrs Brough, Buckabank Farm, Dalston, Carlisle secured Barwood Addison Mildred at 1,200gns, a second calver by Etazon Addison, also consigned by the Barton family.

Reserve Exhibitor J&Z Kirk, Sponsor Representative Lorraine Phillips from Paragon & Judge Steven Bell, Holmland.

At 1050gns was lot 1 in the sale, again from J&R Hunter, recently calved with her third and purchased by the same buyers as today’s champion and top price, Messrs Lawrie, Lanark.
