JANHAVEN DISPERSAL SALE
for JR Irving
Woodhouse Farm, Yarlet, Staffordshire
Saturday 17th May 2003

A huge crowd gathered for the dispersal of the noted Janhaven Herd of Jerseys on behalf of Mr Jim Irving on Saturday 17th May 2003 with purchasers from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland participating in the days bidding.

It was the exceptional Dove Family that understandably attracted the most attention with the VG88 point Heifer Janhaven Judy Dove peaking at 3000gns. Out of EX93 Janhaven Future Dove who was sold only moments before her, this superb Heifer by Highland Duncan Lester had already given 3,557kg in 158 and was sold giving almost 26kg. Served again to Janhaven Red Knight she caught the eye of the Fields of Dream syndicate who clinched her to take her back to Shropshire.

2300gns secured her EX93 point dam, Future Dove for the Waring family of East Yorkshire. This quality cow by Clover Farms Protein was sold fresh with her 5th calf having given a massive 204kg in her 4th lactation. Her April 2003 born calf by Ferreira Mannix Escalade made 750gns.

Yearling heifers peaked at 1600gns for Janhaven Loveable Rose. By Lester Sambo, her dam an 84 point heifer had given over 5800kg in her 1st lactation. She was purchased by the Arley Farming Company of Kidderminster. They obviously admired the family because they also went on to take her 86 point Maternal sister Janhaven Joyous Rose by Raughton Liberation.

The fresh heifer Janhaven Kracker also peaked at 1250gns. By Huronia Jody’s Galaxy, her dam was the 86 point Wllhead Superstar Hopeful. She was purchased by the Porter family of Cheshire.
1350gns clinched the 85 point heifer Janhaven Kittiwake for Mr Davies of Colwyn Bay. By Molly Brook Berretta Fabulous, her 84 point dam had peaked at over 7500kg in her 3rd lactation.
