REPORT
A sale of virtually the entire Loford Herd was held at the Bristol Sales Centre, on behalf of Messrs MJ & JE Wade, Bideford, Devon on Monday 9th December.

Top seller was the VG89 classified Loford Rudolph Marci who entered the ring fresh in her third lactation. She reached 5500gns and sold to Mr Brough, Cumbria, to join his Tallent herd. She is bred from 3 generations of VG or EX classified dams and from the family that bred the well known Henkeseen Marci Marvellous.She had recently given 13,359 kgs in her 2nd lactation. Her heifer calf by Summershade Inquirer made 2,200gns and goes to Steven Leyburn, Northern Ireland.

Also heading north was Loford Rudolph Mandy, classified VG88 and fresh in her 2nd lactation. She descends from 5 generations of Excellent dams including Wapa Bootmaker Mandy EX96, the dam of Fisher Place Mandingo. She made 4,800gns and joins the Wolfa herd of Messrs Armstrong, Penrith.

Her yearling daughter by Mtoto made 2,350gns selling to Messrs Targett, Somerset for their Carymoor Herd. A sister to Rudolph Mandy, sired by Shoremar James and also a yearling made 2,600gns to Mr H Bothwell, Northern Ireland for his Tattynuckle Herd.

Making 4,600gns was Loford Winchester Dellia, a recently served heifer, bred from a VG87 Mandel daughter of Snow N Denises Dellia EX95. The successful buyers were Messrs L&G Vasami and she heads west to join their Santamaria herd, in Carmarthenshire.

Loford Stormy Meg 3rd EX92 completes 6 generations of EX cows including the famous Bartonhoo Nugget Meg EX96. She sold near the end of a 9,000kgs 3rd lactation due again in February to Ked Juror. The buyer was again a resident of West Wales, this time Messrs ER & ME Jones & Sons, Kidwelly, for their Feithy Herd.

A price of 2,400gns was enough to secure Loford Masc Fifi VG 2years, bred from the Plushanski Faith family. Bred from a 12,000kgs EX Mandel dam she sold served to Stouder Morty and joins the Brynhyfryd herd of Messrs JWC George & Sons, Wolfcastle, Pembrokeshire.
