The first entry into the sale ring produced the top price of the day for the Welsh Black Cattle Society annual show and sale at Carlisle on Friday 11th November 2005.

Lot 1 crowned as the Champion Heifer of the pre-sale judging secured the leading price of 1,250gns and was consigned by RJ Price of Bala Gwynedd. Rhiwlas Seren 21st, an incalf heifer, was sold to Messrs CH & AK Walker of Barnside, Duns.

A couple of lots on and the Reserve Champion Heifer took the next leading price of 1,100gns. Shown by Messrs Thomas Bros of Oswestry, Nant-Ganol Tegwen 43rd sold in calf and went to Mr SA Morrow of Saintfield, N.Ireland.

The Champion Maiden Heifer, Waedog Celynen 144th a January 2004 born heifer, was shown by Emyr Wyn Jones of Bala, Gwynedd. She sold for 1,000gns to Mrs S Preece of Brydekirk, Annan, Dumfriesshire.

Also selling for 1,000gns was an in calf heifer sold by Messrs Thomas Bros again. Nant-Ganol Gwenan 20th was secured by Mr SA Morrow of Saintfield, N.Ireland.
