Pedigree Simmental Bulls & Females
Saturday 14th May 2005

REPORT

Regency Paprika
Champion - Regency Paprika 2,000gns.
Bidding reached up to 2,750gns twice at the Simmental Cattle Society spring show and sale incorporating the South West Breeders Club, on Saturday 14th May 2005. Once again the Bristol Sales Centre proved to be a noted venue for the Simmental breeders as trade throughout for all classes, especially the females, commanded a good demand and a large percentage of stock found new homes.

The first price of 2,750gns was from Devonshire breeder, RH Widdicombe of Totnes, for Starline Premier an August 2003 born bull by Starline Klassik and out of a Heywood Scorpio bred mother. Premier was successfully sold to TE Lewis & Son of Llandrindod Wells, Powys.

The reserve male champion achieved the other top price which was consigned by RC & JA Gubb of Torrington, Devon. Horizon Ranger, a younger bull born January 2004, is a son of Agardsley Elgar and bred from a Heywood mother was sold to JE & ME Pugsley & Son of Dulverton, Somerset.

Another bull to reach the 2,000gn mark was Regency Paprika from Les Owen of Bilston, West Midlands. Paprika, sired by Shebdon Lieutenant and out of a Brinkton bred dam, was knocked down to EM & A Williams & Gittins of Anglesey.

Empress 3rd was sold to J Wilkins of Carr Farm, north Lincs.

Also selling up to 2,000gns was Beeches Pansy, a maiden heifer, from CH Carter of Wickford, Essex. Pansy, a June 2003 born heifer sired by Curlieu Jasper and out of a Brinkton Bonzo bred mother, she was sold to GW Smith of Drumsleed, Laurencekirk.
