LIMOUSINS SEE ANOTHER GOOD SALE AT CARLISLE
Local breeders James Common & Son of Lockerbie, secured the leading
price of 5,500gns for their 21 month old bull Crossdykes Uplands at the
annual June sale on behalf of the Limousin Cattle Society.
Uplands, a son of Sarkley Moonlight and out of a Talent bred mother,
Uplands Beatrice, he sold to J Robertson & Son (Becks) & Co,
Langholm.
The next leading price for the bulls on offer was 4,200gns for a December
2003 born bull consigned by Messrs Heald & Co of Home Farm, Retford. Coachhouse
Upington, sired by Haltcliffe Picasso and out of a Kype Orkney bred dam,
he was sold to DH & JM Murray of The Throp, Gilsland, Carlisle.
In the female section a much admired young heifer topped the sale at
3,400gns from DF Walker of Egremont. Dentox Vanilla a March 2004
born youngster by the imported sire Nenuphar was knockded down to R & J
Mullholland of Midtown Farm, Great Orton, Carlisle.
